Ultra-Low Sulfur Heating Oil

Ultra-Low Sulfur Heating Oil
As of July 1st, 2018 New Hampshire joined neighboring states and began to transition to ultra-low sulfur (ULS) heating oil for delivery to homes and businesses.
Our communities deserve a safe environment to thrive, which is why New Hampshire is making the switch to a cleaner energy option. Starting in 2018, ultra-low sulfur heating oil will replace traditional heating oil across the state. Ultra-low sulfur (ULS) heating oil has all the features of traditional oil heat, with added benefits for the environment and consumer cost savings. It will reduce particulate emissions, including sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. The updated fuel specifications will reduce the potential for acid formation in equipment, acid rain and soot from the fuel when it is burned.
Oil heat has been the top heating choice for homeowners and business owners in New Hampshire for decades. It is a safe, reliable, and affordable energy source that generations of NH residents have counted on during the coldest winters. ULS heating oil will uphold these important values—and then some.
